ABOUT ANGELICA

Angelica Toruno is an lifestyle and entertainment reporter for News 12 network, her bread and butter. She shoots, edits, writes every story she covers. Whether it’s cooking in a kitchen with a chef from the Vatican, previewing an actress to take on the Broadway stage or red carpet coverage she finds unique moments to share with audiences that are sure to bring a smile to viewers faces.

Angelica also is the reporter who bridges marketing clients to storytelling. She hosts segments like, ‘Ask the Lawyer,’ Yale New Haven Health, and any other partnerships that need an on-air presence.

She is a first generation graduate from Pace University with a BA in Communications and a minor in Marketing.

In Manhattan, she assisted and managed many behind the scene productions. Angelica held internships at “Jerry Springer,” “The Steve Wilkos Show” and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” for NBCUniversal. She produced news stories for HooplaHa, an online news website featuring happy and motivational stories. Angelica worked at “The View” and was as an audience manager for the 2016 and 2018 “MTV Video Music Awards”. She was the press coordinator at The Tribeca Film Festival and even stumbled upon making acting debuts as an extra on Nickelodeon special presentations and Paramount pilots.

Angelica later received a Master of Arts in Journalism at the University of Miami.

While in Miami, she is worked as the Assignment News Editor for CBS4. Interned at NBC6 with ‘NBC 6 News’ and its’ entertainment show, ‘6 In The Mix’. There she wrote scripts, pitched story ideas, turned content for on-air and digital use.

Her homecoming to the tristate brought her to WTNH, News 8 as a morning producer. There, she saw a gap in coverage for the Latino community. She spearheaded ¿Qué Pasa? anchoring, and producing the daily Spanish digital segment that highlighted top local stories.

From there, she began reporting for New 12 Westchester and New 12 Hudson Valley. She then returned to report for the Connecticut team. During her time in Connecticut she covered ballot stuffing election scandal, Trump’s assassination attempt, Presidency elections, a power plant explosion and more.

When she’s not looking for a fun new trend or news stories she’s doing yoga or pilates, playing volleyball or buried in a book.
